marc: to be honest I don't recommend it. It's on my todo list to migrate our server to a nixos installation. Not sure if there are ejabberd nixos modules, though. But if I'm ever gonna migrate our server I would consider building a module or set of modules if it doesn't exist. We have a similar effort for nix-bitcoin. I think for xmpp it could be a very cool effort to have a nix installation config out of the box that allows you to install a server of choice with some front-end and modules of choice.
