[12:20:21] <Holger> Maybe garbage collection is no good in Mnesia's persistent disk storage backend, I dunno.  I just know it's not at all designed to hold non-trivial amounts of data (and we should really stop supporting it).
If you have enough RAM, you can configure Mnesia to use the default RAM+disk backend for the MAM table.  This should perform very well and gets rid of the 2G limit, but loads your entire MAM data into RAM.
