You need to configure a landing page. Neither Gajim nor Dino support those XMPP URIs. Only Monal and Conversations do afaik.

Thanks; I seem to have gotten it working. Part of my problem was forgetting to use tls:true in the listen config. Do you know if there is any way to make it work on normal port 443 (so it doesn't have to have port 5281 in the URL) while also still having a normal web server (NGINX in my case) on the domain?
